How do I set a static IP address for my WatchGuard Wi-Fi Cloud AP device?
 

To set a static IP address for your AP device in WatchGuard Wi-Fi Cloud:

1. In Manage, select Configuration > Device Templates.

2. Select the device template in use.

3. Select the Allow Device Specific Customization check box.

4. Click Save.

5. Apply the Device Template to your AP.

6. Select Monitoring > Managed Devices.

7. Select the device you want to assign a static IP address.

8. Edit the Additional VLAN Monitoring property.

9. Select the Customize Additional VLANs to Monitor check box.

10. In the Monitor Additional VLANs text box, type a VLAN number. You can enter 0 for an untagged network or a single VLAN network.

11. In the Communication VLAN text box, type the VLAN number to specify the Communication VLAN that the AP device uses to communicate with other cloud resources.You only need to specify a static IP address for the Communication VLAN. The AP will additionally get one address for each VLAN that it is configured to monitor.When you configure SSIDs with specific VLANs, the AP device monitors that network and receives an IP address on that network.

12. Click Advanced to expand the advanced options.

Note: VLAN 0 is always the untagged VLAN regardless of the VLAN ID configured as untagged on your switch or Firebox.

13. Click Edit for the Communication VLAN you want to configure.

14. Select the Static option.

15. Type the static address information for the VLAN.

16. Click OK.

17. Click Save.

After you configure the static IP address, you may need to reboot the AP device or push the IP address/VLAN configuration from the cloud to the device.
